Welcome to the
Office of the District Clerk

The District Clerk has multiple responsibilities within the District:

  • Secretary to the Board of Education, preparing agendas and minutes for Board meetings.
  • Maintain Board Policy Manual
  • Records Access Officer for the District, responsible for responding to Freedom of Information Law requests.
  • Running School elections, receiving petitions for School Board candidates, registering voters for School votes, and sending Absentee ballots for School votes.

I hope that this website will provide community members with timely information about School Board meetings, District policies and records, and school elections.  I welcome your comments and suggestions as to how it can be improved.

Cathy Russell

"FOIL" requests:

Records maintained by the East Ramapo School District are available to the public through New York State's Freedom of Information Law.

Interested parties can request records by submitting a letter of request to the District Clerk. The letter should be as specific as possible regarding the records requested. There is a charge of $.25 per page for copying of records, however records may be viewed in the District Clerk's office without charge.

Please note that the District is not required to create documents under FOIL. The FOIL law covers existing documents maintained by the District, not requests for research or compilation/analysis of data that the District has not performed.
